Yoga Month has begun at SBG and so has our first go at having a “Yoga Summer Read” in order to help keep you boosted in practice as the outdoor summer activities take over. We are reading The Tree of Yoga by BKS Iyengar and it is such a great intro to the WHOLE of YOGA and its depth and practice in life and on the mat.
As you look to get into the book…here’s a nice way to look at it…
- The chapters are quite short
- We have basically 13 weeks to read the book
- The book has 36 chapters
- So ALL you have to get through per week is 2-3 short chapters
For the purposes of this blog, I will cut it into maybe some different chunks that might relate more together, but in general, those of you not sure of the “commitment” to read something will find it very digestable.
Stay tuned for some tidbits and thoughts about the reading as we go…please fell free to comment, discuss, and engage on this blog or FB page. The photo attached is the first handout from the “Beyond the Asana” class from 7:15-8:15 on Wednesdays.
HAPPY READING !!
