First full day here in Dallas! Unfortunately we are missing some of the Midwest constituency and Ashley and Erin due to the crazy winter storms, but they will arrive tomorrow we hope and all will be well.
Today was full of high energy, seeing so many I only get to see every 3 years, and some I haven’t seen for longer. These Conventions become an experience of a large family reunion. Some close relatives and some of those “many removed” cousins, but at some level you know you are related.
In Iyengar Yoga, what keeps us related is our love of the practice and our committment and dedication to the tradition of BKS Iyengar and his family legacy. Abhijata is here with her actual family, husband, inlaws, and two children, and we are all excited to be able to have this opportunity to study under her expertise.
We are definitely in Texas! With a mariachi band and churros at the meet and greet, what more could we ask for?? Many of you know I am a native Texan who grew up in Houston, my mom is my roommate for this Convention, and essentially my whole yoga lineage is here including my first mentor and first actual Iyengar Yoga teacher.
No matter where we are from and how we have gotten here, we are ready for some YOGA !! Goody bags, prop bags, and T-shirts OH MY!
Let it begin!!!
